RetailMeNot was considering embarking a new retail specialization. I designed and conducted studies to help determine the area of focus and the best new product approach. I started by conducting a survey to get a better understanding of user needs and interests. I then used the results of that survey to inform a user study where participants were shown four different product prototypes. The findings of these studies helped to determine the new product specialty (food) and approach (a new, stand-alone app).
